School Safety Programs

Marblehead Electric's School Safety Program

Each spring in Marblehead's Elementary Schools, we teach students in Grades K- 4 about electricity and why it's important to respect it. This popular program features a Safety Instructor who visits classrooms in all five local elementary schools to teach basic facts about electric power and its potential hazards for injury and even death.

This classroom instruction is customized to the different age levels, and includes handbooks and videos along with hands-on demonstrations to make the program's content more memorable.

For kids in the 5th Grade, a Safety DVD with Handbooks are available from the Light Department. Borrow the DVD, by calling Megan Milan at (781) 631-5600 and ask about the "Shocking Truth" DVD.
